Goscor Hi-Reach, sole distributors of Genie products in South Africa, has now also been appointed the sole Teupen distributor in the southern African region. Goscor Hi-Reach will be responsible for all sales and product support activities in the local and southern African markets.

Based in Gronau in Germany, Teupen is an international manufacturer of aerial work platforms. It specialises in niche machines such as the LEO Spiders, the original tracked aerial work platform. These are specialised lightweight machines that can move through narrow spaces and yet achieve excellent working heights. They run on non-marking rubber tracks and can typically fit through a standard-sized door.

Goscor Hi-Reach CEO George Landsberg says that Teupen’s LEO lifts indisputably set the standard in tracked aerials. “We are happy being able to offer German engineering of this standard in southern Africa,” says Landsberg. In addition to signing the distribution agreement, Goscor also ordered the first batch of LEO tracked lifts from Teupen at the Intermat construction show in Paris in April, 2012, which included a LEO 23GT and several LEO 18GTs.

The LEO 23 GT is especially suited for job sites that are space restricted and require great working heights. The variable and quick multi-position stabilising system, the 180° rotatable basket and the flexible articulated and telescopic boom are ideal for quick and efficient applications.

The LEO 18 GT has become the standard machine for a variety of different tasks in complicated and hard-to-reach job sites. Its compact dimensions and low weight allow access to narrow indoor spaces without damaging delicate floors. With its powerful track drive, it climbs slopes, and even stairs, up to 28% inclination and drives easily through rough terrain.

Operating from its headquarters in Alrode, Johannesburg, Goscor Hi-Reach also provides spares, ongoing maintenance and repairs as well as full refurbishment of machines for its customers across southern Africa.
